Antique Rose

Canmake New Blushers!

06:46

Hey~ hey~ I'm back with another post!

So...as you can see from the title, I am going to be showing you

swatches and some of my thoughts on the newly launched cheek

products from a Japanese cosmetics brand, Canmake. These new cheek

products are infused with great ingredients which helps to nourish

your skin which is a plus for me.

You can get these goodies from SaSa, Guardian, Aeon Wellness, Aeon

Departmental Store, Hermo, Play-Up by Parkson and Ourshop by

 Airasia.

Let's get right into the swatches!
.
.
.

Canmake Powder Cheek PW41-Antique Rose

So let's talk about what I like about this product. This powder

cheek blends easily on the skin with literally any base products

underneath! It gives you that light flush on the cheek with an

almost matte finish. The powder is very silky but it adheres well

onto the skin. The brush included is so-so in my opinion, I like

the brush in their glow fluer cheek better. However, if you are

looking for a blusher that is able to retain the dewy look, I would

recommend the cream cheek.
From the swatch in the photo above, you can see that the

pigmentation is just nice with moderate opacity which is how I like

 my blush to look like.

Normal Price: RM 42.30
.
.
.

Canmake Cream Cheek 16 Almond Terracotta

This! is definitely my favourite blush from their cheek product

range!

Why? It gives you that natural flush with clear glass skin effect!

The colour is not too opaque and its gel-type formulation allows the

natural glow of your skin to peek through the colour of the

blusher!

I have light to medium skin tone and I always find pinky blusher

unflattening on me. So, I tend to go for terracotta, coral or

slightly mauvey colours.

This cream cheek can be easily applied with your fingers and it does

not only function as blusher. You can also apply this product on

your lips to give your lips some colouration! Definitely an A++

product and very travel friendly!.

Normal Price: RM 40.50
.
.
.

Canmake Glow Fluer Cheek 10 - Terracotta Fluer

This cheek palette is another great product from Canmake! I like how

they have 4 colours in one palette. I had tried using this as my

eyeshadow and I love how it turns out. The finish is not mad matte

but instead a soft satin finish in my opinion. These colours are

very true to its name - Terracotta. The pearl particles in the

palette is very fine and it blends onto the cheek naturally with a

 pretty glowy finish.

I just can't get over how gorgeous is this colour combination and

the finish! The colours will be more subtle as compared to these

finger swatch. It is very soft and translucent on the cheek.

Normal Price: RM 45.20
.
.
.

My Final Ranking:

  1. Canmake Cream Cheek 16 - Almond Terracotta
  2. Canmake Glow Fluer Cheek 10 - Terracotta Fluer
  3. Canmake Powder Cheek PW41 - Antique Rose
*****This ranking is just my personal preference as a reference for you girls who are eyeing on the products!

Maintaining and Cleaning of Contact Lenses

22:58

Maintaining and Cleaning of Contact Lenses

Wearing colour cosmetics contact lenses has become a norm to enhance the look nowadays. We can see that people in the entertainment industries such as the idols and the actors are often spotted with the use of colour cosmetics contact lenses.

So, here comes the issue. Do you really know how to clean or maintain your eyes and contact lenses? Well I myself searched up the internet and found out that there were actually cases where the eyesight were damaged due to improper cleaning and maintenance of the contact lens. Therefore, I am writing this post today to just remind and also inform you the right way to store and also clean your contact lenses...not only for hygiene purposes but also to maintain the eyesight.

Dos:

1.    Wash your hands with soap (antibacterial if possible) and water BEFORE touching your contact lenses.

2.    Use fresh contact lens cleaning solution every time.

3.    Rub your contact lenses with your fingers while cleaning (even with “no-rub” contact cleaning solutions), then rinse with fresh cleaning solution.

4.    Rinse your contact lens case with fresh solution, and leave it OVERTUNRNED and OPEN to dry.

5.    Always keep your solution bottle capped.

6.    Follow the instructions on the contact lens cleaning solution, contact lens and also storing solution.

7.    Replace contact lens case every three months.

8.    Always soak your new contact lens overnight before wearing.

9.    Check the life span and expiry date of contact lenses before you wear.

10. Discard dry out contact lenses!

Don’ts:

1.    Do not use saline solution, sterile water, saliva, tap water or rewetting drops to clean your lens (None of these serve to disinfect and clean your lens).

2.    Don’t let your fingernails get in contact with the lenses. (Nails may scratch the lens and hide germs and dirt)

3.    Do not reuse the cleaning and storing solution.

4. Do not clean your lens case with tap water (might contain impurities and microorganisms).

5.  Avoid wearing contact lenses when you are battling with flu.

6.   Don’t leave your case near the toilet or humid places.

7. Do not sleep with your contact lenses in your eyes.

Last but not least...

Caramel Melange

Zoeva Caramel Melange Palette: The pumpkin colour palette!

01:50

Hi! Welcome back to my blog. I'm Mireille.

Are you guys excited to see my thoughts on this palette? Cause I am very excited now and I can't wait to share with you guys how awesome is this palette!

I accidentally discovered this palette when I was window shopping at Sephora online. I never knew that Zoeva produces such great quality palette! (I thought they are only good at producing makeup brushes haha)

I was initially looking at their Plasir box which consist of 3 palettes. However, the colours of Caramel Melange overpowered the other two palette (Cocoa Blend and Blanc Fusion). Caramel Melange is so hard to get as it it always out of stock on the website. Ok..ok..i know I'm going too far =.=

Let's get started!
.
.
.
Same as usual some photos.

Oh....isn't the packaging beautiful? I can't resist it! This gold and warm brown colour really reminds me of fall. Although I live in a country without fall hahaha. It is sleek and compact which is a plus for storing.

It claims to have superior pigmentation, easy to blend and consist of vitamin E.

Well, I can't tell if it really contains vitamin E but the first two statement is true. It is very pigmented and easy to blend.

We know that matte shades are often harder to blend compare to the shimmers but this palette really surprises me. It blends like magic!

This is how it looks like once it's open. There are 10 shades in this palette. 6 matte shades, 3 shimmers, 1 matte with gold glitter. This is a warm tone palette. It is 1.5g for each pan.

Top from left: wax paper, universal delight, aftertaste, 182 degree celcius, liquid center
Bottom from left: alchemy, start soft, finish sensual, almost burnt, edible gem

The mattes are very pigmented with a powdery feel but does not have fall outs upon application.

The shimmers are really gorgeous! I live for them! They are very shimmery and they have minimal fall out (normal for shimmery shades) which is good enough.

Overall the shades are easy to blend and wear as they compliment each other really well. As for the pigmentation, it is no doubt very intense!

Doubt it? Let's take a look at my swatches on this palette.
.
.
These are the swatches for the colours on the top lane.

These are the swatches for the bottom lane.

They are really pigmented right?! I know after seeing the swatch are you guys wondering what is the difference between alchemy and start soft? Alchemy has more of a reddish tone brown while start soft is more of an orangey brown. Universal delight is my usual transition shade. It is also the only one shade with this buttery feel. The shimmer shades are not chunky which is surprising. I recommend applying using finger or a compact brush to prevent fall outs :)

Daily makeup look created using this palette.

I also found out that edible gem is similar to the shade sippy sippy in the Swamp Queen palette by Tarte in collaboration with Grav3yardgurl. I like the edible gem more than sippy sippy because it blends out nicely.

Pros:
Pigmented, affordable (USD26.5 on official website, RM 90.00 on Sephora website), long lasting, minimal fall out, compact

Cons:
No mirror :(

Verdict: 5/5 !!!!

Recommend? YES!

Repurchase? Yes. If I am able to finish it hahahaha

Etude House

Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lipliner: A perfect lip liner for the famous Bbia lipstick no.4 ?!

20:43

Hello everyone! I'm back to blogging. First of all, sorry for disappearing without notice ><

I've been busy catching up with the assignments and final exams. I'm truly sorry for not being able to update my blog frequently. Now that I'm back at blogging do expect for more blog post :D
.
.
.
.

As the title stated in the post, today's review is going to be the famous Korean brand Etude house's Lip liner~! I purchased this a long time ago but haven't try it until recently that I've decided to try this lip liner as it has been lying around for quite some time. =.="
.
.
.
So, let's get started!
.
.
.
.
This is how it looks like in the official advertisement.
.
.
.
.
.
It is 0.2g, and comes in this plastic pen style which the product can be twisted up so that you wouldn't need to sharpen it lip the one in the pencil form.
.
.
.
and this is how it really looks like. I got mine in the shade no.1 Soft Rose.
.
.
.
.
.
The pen is sleek and the cap of this liner closes with a click which make it looks more sturdy.
.
.
.

This is the close up of the liner. It has quite a small tip which enables precise drawing on the lip line.
.
.
.

This is the amount that is left after a few swatches.
.
.
.
Now let's look at the swatch.

Left: Bbia last lipstick no.4 Intellective.
Right: Etude House Soft Touch Auto Lipliner in shade no.1 Soft Rose.
.
.
.
Comments:
  • not drying on the lips, dries into semi-matte and stays for a few hours (tried for 3 hour).
  • creamy texture. Glides onto the lips without tugging.
  • does not moves around once it's set which is a plus because you won't find yourself becoming a clown after a few hours XD.
  • waterproof but not oil proof.
  • only 0.2g, so it comes in this little amount but for the price I think it is all good. It is $2.60 on the official website. I bought it from Hermo.my which cost around RM11.

Repurchase? Yes!!!!!

Recommend to friends and family. Yes.

Rating: 4/5

I'll update the staying power once I've try for a longer time. Until then. Ciao~

REVIEW: Tarte x Graveyardgirl Swamp Queen Palette

20:48

Hello friends~ I'm Mireille and I'm back with another review :D

Today's review is going to be the Swamp Queen palette from tarte!

As a swamp family I couldn't resist the urge to get this palette full of wonderful colours.

The palette comes with 9 eyeshadows, 1 bronzer (not suitable for Asian skin tone), 1 blusher and 1 highlighter.
.
.
.
.
.
.

Isn't it awesome?~~ I like the woody feel of the packaging and the texture. The palette is made of cardboards (?)

I like how the palette feels and how it has a cute alligator with wings printed on the cover!

Let's take a look at the content shall we?
.
.
.

I especially love the big mirror that came with it. The quotes printed are very motivational and inspiring! It also came with a brush which is a plus. The quality of the brush is not bad at all :D

This is a closer look on the name of the shades and the colours.

From left: #SFS, Natural Peaches, Dogman

#SFS: metallic finish, very pigmented.
Natural Peaches: matte, pigmented but with minor fall outs.
Dogman: matte finish with a tiny bit amount of glitter. Take effort to blend.

Favourite: #SFS

From left: Big Baby, Sassy Bun, Sippy Sippy

Big Baby: matte finish with minor fall outs.
Sassy Bun: metallic finish, very pigmented.
Sippy Sippy: matte finish with glitter. Difficult to blend as shown in the swatch

Favourite: Sassy Bun~!!!!!!!

From left: Haunting, Uncommon, Mancat. (They're all grayish purple shade, but the swatches looks abit brownish on my skin)

Haunting: shimmer finish, very pigmented.
Uncommon: metallic finish also very pigmented.
Mancat: matte finish, I think this is the shade that is hardest to blend in the palette.

Favourite: Hauting.

From left: Sweet tea, Does this thing really work?, Gator wings

Sweet tea: shimmer finish (it is very pigmented, I use as a eyeshadow since it doesn't suit me as a bronzer. Hehe)
Does this thing really work?: also shimmer finish, very pigmented.
Gator wings: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HIGHLIGHTER EVER. YES, I SAID MOST.

Favourite: GATOR WINGS!!!!!! I live for this highlighter.

Final thoughts:

Overall it is a pretty decent palette. I love the shades they are very pretty and pigmented. As it is very pigmented, do expect some fall outs. The matte type shadow is not to my liking mainly because it is very difficult to blend. It is a very good palette for everyday makeup too. I can see myself using this palette a lot in the future.
Good job Bunny! Love ya!

So, we have come to the end of the review. I guess I'll stop right here.
Have a nice day~ Bye~~~~~~

Kose

REVIEW: Kose Lip Gel Magic

05:37

Hi girls! Welcome to my blog~~~~

Today I'm going to review the Kose Lip Gel Magic~~~
.
.
.
.
.
Tadahhhhhh~!!!!!!!!!

I've heard a lot about amazing things about this product!!!! It is the "raincoat" for lipsticks. So, I've decided to purchase it over the Kose counter.

This is how the packaging looks like.

okay, now let's not waste our time and get into the review shall we? :)

What it claims to do:
  • Super lasting lip coat.
  • Fragrance and colouring free.
  • Enhance and last the colour of the lipstick.

How to apply:

Use after lipstick is applied.
  1. Shake well while the cap is still on to ensure it is semi-transparent. (It is a transparent liquid before the shaking.
  2. Squeeze out the product, a rice-grain size is enough for the whole lips.
  3. Pull the lips horizontally during application.

This is how my lips looks like without applying the lip gel magic. I'm using Colourpop's ultra satin lips in the shade Calypso.

This is the kiss test on a piece of tissue paper. As you can see it does transfer onto the tissue.

This is my lips after applying a layer of lip gel magic. It has a slippery feeling when it is first applied. It changes the finish of the lipstick slightly to a more powdery finish BUT does not dry out the lips. Yes, It blurs out the fine lines on my lips.

Now, the kiss test....

Left: with lip gel magic on

Right: without lip gel magic

I am amazed!!!!!!!!!!! It does what it claim, does not have any fragrance and is very comfortable on lips.
The tube contains 6.0gm of products and claims to be enough for 60 applications.

Veridict: 5/5

Now I can use any lipstick and need not to worry about transferring issues.

Repurchase?

YES YES YES YES!
.
.
.
.
.
Okay! That's all for today~ I guess I'll see you guys next week :)

Yes, next week. Stay tune~

Brushes

Review: 12pcs Medium Brush from Csmakeup.com

02:28

Hey there! I'm back with another review! Today's review is gonna be the medium brush set from Csmakeup!

Csmakeup is a Malaysian brand that sells makeup tools which I discovered through Instagram.

Their brushes are really affordable and the qualities are good as well.

I've purchased their pro essential brushes which are now my holy grail brushes!

They are super soft and not prickly to my sensitive eyelids.

I also have the BH cosmetics pop art brush sets but I find that I have been reaching to the Csmakeup brushes more than the BH cosmetics'.

Don't get me wrong, they are both amazing brushes!

So, today I'm going to review their new 12pcs medium brush which is very handy to bring around when travelling.

It is a MEDIUM brush so they're much more smaller than the full size brushes.

HAIR MATERIAL: soft artificial fibre

DISCLAIMER: I bought these brushes with my own money. It is not a sponsored blog post.

Lets take a look at these amazing brushes shall we?

I got mine during the promotion period which includes the leather case.

There are 12 pieces of brushes in this set. Who could resist an elegant black gold brush set like this?

Now, lets take a closer look at the brushes.

From left:

P1: Powder Brush

P2: Stippling Brush

P3:  Blush Brush

P4: Foundation Brush

From left:

P8: Highlight Brush

P7: Pencil Brush

P6: Eyeshadow Blending Brush

P5: Eyeshadow Applicator Brush

From Left:

P9: Nose Shading Brush

P10: Lip Brush

P11: Detail Brush (I use it to fill in my eyebrows)

P12: Artwork Brush

I received this set of brushes last Friday and decided to try out for a few times before making a review.

When I first remove the brushes from their individual plastic cover I do find a few fall out of the bristle BUT I can say that the bristles are staying intact with the brush body firmly since I've already wash for like 5 times and I've not discover any fall out.

PS: They ship worldwide.

Pros:

  • There's a lot of variety in this brush set.
  • Bristles are very soft and easy to manage.
  • Nice sizes and casing for travelling.
  • Grabs on the powders easily.
  • Gentle to the skin.
  • Affordable and good quality.

Cons:
  • There's a sour smell to the leather casing. (I leave the casing open and the smell goes away.)
  • There's no name for these brushes except on the official Instagram they stated the types.
  • You have to be extremely careful when closing the lid to avoid crushing the bristle.

Verdict: 4/5

Recommend?

Yes. A very good quality brush set for the price.
