Caramel Melange

Zoeva Caramel Melange Palette: The pumpkin colour palette!

01:50

Hi! Welcome back to my blog. I'm Mireille.

Are you guys excited to see my thoughts on this palette? Cause I am very excited now and I can't wait to share with you guys how awesome is this palette!

I accidentally discovered this palette when I was window shopping at Sephora online. I never knew that Zoeva produces such great quality palette! (I thought they are only good at producing makeup brushes haha)

I was initially looking at their Plasir box which consist of 3 palettes. However, the colours of Caramel Melange overpowered the other two palette (Cocoa Blend and Blanc Fusion). Caramel Melange is so hard to get as it it always out of stock on the website. Ok..ok..i know I'm going too far =.=

Let's get started!

Same as usual some photos.

Oh....isn't the packaging beautiful? I can't resist it! This gold and warm brown colour really reminds me of fall. Although I live in a country without fall hahaha. It is sleek and compact which is a plus for storing.

It claims to have superior pigmentation, easy to blend and consist of vitamin E.

Well, I can't tell if it really contains vitamin E but the first two statement is true. It is very pigmented and easy to blend.

We know that matte shades are often harder to blend compare to the shimmers but this palette really surprises me. It blends like magic!

This is how it looks like once it's open. There are 10 shades in this palette. 6 matte shades, 3 shimmers, 1 matte with gold glitter. This is a warm tone palette. It is 1.5g for each pan.

Top from left: wax paper, universal delight, aftertaste, 182 degree celcius, liquid center
Bottom from left: alchemy, start soft, finish sensual, almost burnt, edible gem

The mattes are very pigmented with a powdery feel but does not have fall outs upon application.

The shimmers are really gorgeous! I live for them! They are very shimmery and they have minimal fall out (normal for shimmery shades) which is good enough.

Overall the shades are easy to blend and wear as they compliment each other really well. As for the pigmentation, it is no doubt very intense!

Doubt it? Let's take a look at my swatches on this palette.
.
.
These are the swatches for the colours on the top lane.

These are the swatches for the bottom lane.

They are really pigmented right?! I know after seeing the swatch are you guys wondering what is the difference between alchemy and start soft? Alchemy has more of a reddish tone brown while start soft is more of an orangey brown. Universal delight is my usual transition shade. It is also the only one shade with this buttery feel. The shimmer shades are not chunky which is surprising. I recommend applying using finger or a compact brush to prevent fall outs :)

Daily makeup look created using this palette.

I also found out that edible gem is similar to the shade sippy sippy in the Swamp Queen palette by Tarte in collaboration with Grav3yardgurl. I like the edible gem more than sippy sippy because it blends out nicely.

Pros:
Pigmented, affordable (USD26.5 on official website, RM 90.00 on Sephora website), long lasting, minimal fall out, compact

Cons:
No mirror :(

Verdict: 5/5 !!!!

Recommend? YES!

Repurchase? Yes. If I am able to finish it hahahaha

REVIEW: Tarte x Graveyardgirl Swamp Queen Palette

20:48

Hello friends~ I'm Mireille and I'm back with another review :D

Today's review is going to be the Swamp Queen palette from tarte!

As a swamp family I couldn't resist the urge to get this palette full of wonderful colours.

The palette comes with 9 eyeshadows, 1 bronzer (not suitable for Asian skin tone), 1 blusher and 1 highlighter.

Isn't it awesome?~~ I like the woody feel of the packaging and the texture. The palette is made of cardboards (?)

I like how the palette feels and how it has a cute alligator with wings printed on the cover!

Let's take a look at the content shall we?
.
.
.

I especially love the big mirror that came with it. The quotes printed are very motivational and inspiring! It also came with a brush which is a plus. The quality of the brush is not bad at all :D

This is a closer look on the name of the shades and the colours.

From left: #SFS, Natural Peaches, Dogman

#SFS: metallic finish, very pigmented.
Natural Peaches: matte, pigmented but with minor fall outs.
Dogman: matte finish with a tiny bit amount of glitter. Take effort to blend.

Favourite: #SFS

From left: Big Baby, Sassy Bun, Sippy Sippy

Big Baby: matte finish with minor fall outs.
Sassy Bun: metallic finish, very pigmented.
Sippy Sippy: matte finish with glitter. Difficult to blend as shown in the swatch

Favourite: Sassy Bun~!!!!!!!

From left: Haunting, Uncommon, Mancat. (They're all grayish purple shade, but the swatches looks abit brownish on my skin)

Haunting: shimmer finish, very pigmented.
Uncommon: metallic finish also very pigmented.
Mancat: matte finish, I think this is the shade that is hardest to blend in the palette.

Favourite: Hauting.

From left: Sweet tea, Does this thing really work?, Gator wings

Sweet tea: shimmer finish (it is very pigmented, I use as a eyeshadow since it doesn't suit me as a bronzer. Hehe)
Does this thing really work?: also shimmer finish, very pigmented.
Gator wings: THE MOST BEAUTIFUL HIGHLIGHTER EVER. YES, I SAID MOST.

Favourite: GATOR WINGS!!!!!! I live for this highlighter.

Final thoughts:

Overall it is a pretty decent palette. I love the shades they are very pretty and pigmented. As it is very pigmented, do expect some fall outs. The matte type shadow is not to my liking mainly because it is very difficult to blend. It is a very good palette for everyday makeup too. I can see myself using this palette a lot in the future.
Good job Bunny! Love ya!

So, we have come to the end of the review. I guess I'll stop right here.
Have a nice day~ Bye~~~~~~

Review: Peripera x Powerpuff Girls Beauty heroes here they come!

05:44

Hello girlfriends! I'm back to updating my blog again!

I've recently purchase a new eye shadow trio from a Korean brand PERIPERA!

DRUMROLLL.................

Cute collaboration between Peripera and powerpuff girls is now officially available.

I think every 90's baby is familiar with this cartoon.

So, of course when i knew that this series will be launch I immediately knew that I have to buy it. My favourite character was Blossom.

She's the one with orangey long
hair, a red bow tie on her head and dress in pink! I adore her so much back then and still do! Surely I cannot resist the urge to buy the palette!

Now let's take a look at the official photos.

There are a lot of products in this series. I bought the palette because it is the most eye catching product to me.

Tadaaaaaa~!!!! This is the whole series of palette!

Makeup look created by the official web.

Lets take a look at what it REALLY looks like.

This is how the packaging looks like.

Shade: NO.1 Pink X Power Blossom

This is how it looks like when it is swatched on my hand.

First shade, shimmer type.

Second shade, glitter type

Third shade, matte type

The full eye makeup create using the shades in this palette.

Comment:

Packaging: It is a sturdy plastic container with a slightly metallic top coat. The palette itself is quite small in size which is good as it will be easy to carry around.

Texture:
  1. Shimmer type: abit coarse but still acceptable.
  2. Glitter type: coarse but will not be uncomfortable when applied.
  3. Matte type: smooth and buttery.

Pigmentation:

Good (Shimmer type not as pigmented as the other two but buildable)

Longevity: will try to wear for a whole day and update again.

Verdict: 4 / 5

So, i guess I'll stop here. See you guys again next time~

UPDATE:

I've tried using this trio for a full 5 hours and I'm back with an update~

I have normal eyelids which do not secrete a lot of sebum. It lasted pretty good for the 5 hours when

I'm out from home. I would say I was pretty amazed by the lasting power of this trio despite the

glittery shade having fall outs. An eyeshadow primer definitely made the shadows last longer and

more pigmented on the eyelids. Overall it is quite a good eyeshadow trio.
